Twin Nails: Daffodils

I have another set of twin nails for you guys today! This month, the theme was flowers! Jovana from Searching for Spark and I were give given daffodils. We decided to do a peeking daffodil instead of a full on daffodil! I think they turned out really cute!

Daffodil Nail Art

I began with two coats of Zoya Yummy as my base. Next, I used a sponge and Zoya Purity to dab on some puffy clouds. Next, I used a nail art brush and China Glaze's Sun Upon My Skin to polish on the flower petals. Next, I used Zoya Darcy to accent the petals. Zoya Thandie came next as the center of the flower, with some Darcy dots in the middle. Finally, I outlined the petals using a nail art brush and Zoya Raven. And that's it!

Be sure to check out Jovana's post, too! She did a fabulous job! Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: You Polish's June Box

{Press Sample}
You Polish's June box is up and running and the colors this month are gorgeous! I have three of the box choices to show you today! If you aren't familiar with Lauren's boxes, you get to choose two polishes and they always come with some sort of extra. This month, it's some of Lauren's fabulous decals! The boxes cost $17.99 in the US and come with free shipping!

Anchor's Away is a navy blue holo with navy blue micro glitter. Two coats achieved perfect opacity and this polish was smooth, just like Lauren's holo polishes always are! And ohmigosh, is this polish beautiful! I added some sea life decals over Anchor's Away, too!

Orange You Appealing is a bright orange holographic polish that was also opaque in two coats and as smooth as butter! I added some adorable sunglasses decals and they are so cute!

Finally, Thanks A Melon is a melon coral jelly polish with white, watermelon, green, and black hex glitter. Such a fun, summery polish! Since this polish has quite a bit of glitter in it, it's not as smooth as a holo without glitter. It is, however, extremely easy to work with and achieve opacity with! I did three coats for these photographs! Enjoy! :)

Lightning Nail Art

Running With Lacquer had the most perfect lightning mani on her Instagram about two months ago, and I knew I had to recreate them! She even used the perfect colors!

Now, I did these quite some time ago, when my beloved Tampa Bay Lightning were in the Stanley Cup Playoffs...of course, they're out now, but that's another story. :( For these nails, I began with one coat of OPI Radiance topped with one sparkly coat of ellagee's Fly Me to the Moon. When that was dry, I stuck on lightning nail vinyls across the middle of my nail. I polished Zoya Storm above the vinyl and Zoya Dream underneath the vinyl. Finally, I pulled the vinyls off and topped all of my nails with ellagee's Glass. Enjoy! :)

Zoya Summer 2014 Magical Pixie Dust Collection

{Press Sample}

Are you ready for a new set of Magical Pixies?! I hope so, because that's what I have for you today! Zoya's textured polishes have been the creme de la creme of textured polishes since they came out with their first textured collection. The Magical Pixies are newer to this collection, as this is only their second set of them! The Magical Pixies are the same fabulous textured polish many of us have come to know and love, but with holographic hexes added to it! Today I have their new summer colors for you!

All of these polishes are the same texture and finish as the spring collection. They are easy to work with and opaque in two coats, which are shown in each swatch. The textured aspect of the polishes makes them thicker than most polishes, but I didn't find them hard to work with at all. They were smooth and I didn't even have to do clean up! YAY! These gorgeous, sparkly polishes run for $10 and they are worth every penny!

First up is Zoya Arlo, a violet amethyst textured polish. Being a February baby myself, I love this beauty! She's definitely my favorite of the collection.

Zoya Bar is described as a nude topaz, and she leans pretty peach to me. And I love me some peach! So gorgeous!

Finally, we have Zoya Ginni, a lighter pink texture described as tourmaline! I love how delicate this one is! Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: KBShimmer Textured Polishes

{Press Sample}

Are you ready for some crazy awesome polishes?! So awesome that I literally exclaimed, "Oh my gosh!" when I polished one of them onto my mom's nails?! I figured as much...I knew you'd be as excited as I am! ;)

KBShimmer has come out with her first set of textured polishes and I have all three of them to show you today! They are all part of her Early Summer 2014 Collection. The nice thing about these is that the texture is mostly the feeling of glitter, which can be left alone or easily smoothed out with top coat. They were all opaque in two coats and dried rather quickly for textured polish, which tends to take much longer to dry than regular polish. I did NOT use top coat in these pictures. However, I did top coat them while using some nail decals afterward and they looked just as fabulous and turned out pleasantly smooth. These polishes run for $8.75 and can be found at the links provided below. Ok, onto the photographs! But first, a preview of all of the polishes!

Partners in Lime is a bright green lime polish. We're talking BRIGHT green! It's loaded with gold, lime green, and aqua holographic glitter. Look how bright and gorgeous!

She Twerks Out is a bright turquoise polish packed with teal, lime green, aqua, and violet holographic glitters! This one is so fun and summery! I love it!

Finally, I have the polish that made me exclaim aloud! I had intended to use it just for an accent on my mom's nails. However, once I had it on her, we HAD to put it on all of her nails. So, so, so beautiful! Too Pop To Handle is a bright neon purple polish with magenta, violet, pink, and aqua holographic glitters! Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: Whack With Poo Brain

{Press Sample}

Remember my post on ellagee's Chronic Badass and collaboration box with Digital Nails last week? Well, today I have the Digital Nails polish from the box!

Whack With Poo Brain is a pastel purple jelly polish with white, black, lavender, and pink circle glitters. There is also iridescent glitter (blue to purple shifting), which is my absolute favorite part of this polish! It adds such a gorgeous dimension to this already pretty polish. I did three coats since this polish is a jelly and therefore, less opaque than a cream polish. I was pleased with how smoothly it went on, considering there's so much packed into this polish! Whack With Poo Brain was easy to work with and I love how it turned out! Remember, this amazing collab box is $20 and can be purchased using the link above! Enjoy! :)

Spring Bunnies and Chicks

So my nails today may be a bit Easter-y, but I think they can go for spring themed, too! ;) I began with two coats of ellagee's Forgetful Lucy on my pointer and pinkie nails. I also polished two coats of a new yellow ellagee cream on my middle and ring nails.

Once Forgetful Lucy was dry, I sponged on ellagee's Joyful Chloe to make a gradient. I used nail decals by You Polish for the rest of the nail art. I used big chevrons to create the eggs for the chicks. I polished Zoya Purity over the chevrons before pulling them off. I then dotted on eyeballs and used a nail art brush for the nose. Lauren also made adorable peek-a-boo bunny decals, which I placed on my gradient nails. Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: KBShimmer's Spring 2014 Collection

{Press Sample}

I have three polishes from KBShimmer's Spring 2014 Collection to show you guys today! What I'm most excited about it that two of the polishes are creams! I LOVE CREAM POLISH. Cream polishes have become a huge staple in my collection lately. They are perfect for nail art and they are so easy to remove!

Eclipse is a black cream. No fuss, no frills. Just pure black awesomeness. A necessary polish in every nail polish collection! Eclipse is smooth like buttah and was perfectly opaque in two coats. To spice it up, I added one coat of Prism Break, a linear holo top coat, to two of my nails. This polish was also perfect and easy to apply! And man, check out that holo, even indoors!

My Life's Porpoise is a creamy grey polish that went on just as awesomely as Eclipse. I also added one coat of Prism Break to two nails, though it doesn't show up as prominently as it did on Eclipse since it's lighter. Still gorgeous though! Enjoy! :)
