Indie Spotlight: Jior Couture's Summer '14 Collection

{Press Sample}
Jior Couture recently released her Summer '14 Nails and Drink Collection! This collection includes tons of gorgeous shimmers, fluorescents  photochromics (solar), and glow in the dark polishes! I have three of the polishes from this collection to show you today.

Green Apple Ginger Refresher is a green glow in the dark polish. I did three coats alone, but this one could easily be used over undies with just one coat. I love the color of this green and the glow is really intense! I was pleased with how smooth this polish was and I love how it looked! This polish retails for $8.

Mixed Berry Punch is a fluorescent purple that dries to a satin finish. I did two coats and then topped it with top coat to give it a shiny finish. This hot purple is perfect for summer! This polish retails for $8.

Finally, I have Pineapple Cooler, a sheer pale yellow polish with gold and yellow shimmer and microflakies. Pineapple Cooler is photochromic. It turns to a darker color in the sunlight, but owing to summer thunderstorms, the sun hasn't been visible in my area for days! Therefore, I couldn't get a picture of the photochromic shift for you guys. :( However, the shimmer in this polish is gorgeous, even without the sunlight! I did one coat over white undies. Check out that shimmer! This polish retails for $7.50. Enjoy! :)

Twin Nails: Summer Dotticure

The Unprofessional Polisher and I have our second set of twin nails today! These nails were inspired by Angie's shower curtain! Hahaha! Inspiration can really be found anywhere!

For my nails, I began with two coats of Zoya Purity followed by one coat of ellagee Rainbow Syrup. Then, using my medium sized dotting tool, I created the pattern you see below. For the dots, I used Zoya Pippa, Zoya Sailor, Square Hue Beethoven Straat, ellagee Delphinium, and ellagee Bashful Sadie. Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: ellagee's I Have ESPN Box

I moved 1,200 miles about a year ago and ended up meeting two women who became great friends. They've been there for me and supported me a lot this year. I love them dearly and wanted to do something special for them as the school year came to a close. I worked with Laura from ellagee to make them some custom nail polishes! She has also decided to sell the polishes we created in the near future, so I have them to show you today!

Since my friends and I love Mean Girls, the polishes in this box are named after phrases in the movie! Hear Me Roar is the first polish in this box, but it has been renamed (just for the box) On Wednesdays We Wear Pink. This polish is my favorite polish of all time, which is saying a lot coming from someone with a collection like mine! :)

The next polish in this box is Boo, You Whore! This teal holographic and shimmery polish is gorgeous! It was perfect in two coats just like Roar, its sister polish.

Finally, the glitter top coat of the box is So Fetch! Fetch is a clear base with silver holographic, black, and purple glitter in a variety of shapes and sizes, including stars and circles! This box is currently in my giveaway, so be sure to enter it! Enjoy! :)

Mustache Nails

Lauren over at You Polish has been creating a lot of awesome vinyl nail decals lately! I have some of her mustache ones to show you today!

I love mustaches! If something has mustaches on it, I NEED it! :) So, I figured I should combine the mustaches with my all-time favorite polish: ellagee's Hear Me Roar. The holographic, shimmery pink went perfectly with the black vinyl mustaches. I did two coats of Hear Me Roar, and let it dry for about 15 minutes. Then, using tweezers, I placed the mustaches on my nails. I topped it all off with ellagee's Glass top coat! I wore these nails for over a week without any issues at all! Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: ellagee America the Beautiful

{Press Sample}

Laura has rereleased her America the Beautiful Collection just in time for Independence Day, for those of us in the United States! This collection consists of four polishes, which I have for you today!

First up is Give Me Liberty, a red jelly polish with tiny silver holographic hexes. I did two coats for opacity and this polish went on as smooth as, well, jelly! :) I love how squishy it looks! Plus, who can pass up a perfect red polish? To add some additional patriotism, I did one coat of Spangled, the glitter top coat of the collection, on my ring and pinkie nails. Spangled is a clear base packed with silver and holographic silver glitter in a variety of shapes and sizes, including tiny stars and cirlces. These stars are smaller than traditional ones, making them easier to wear and less likely to stick off of your nail. Spangled, despite being loaded with glitter, was easy to manipulate and manage on my nails. GML is $9.50 and Spangled is $9.00!

Next up is Let Freedom Ring, the blue sister polish to Give Me Liberty! Let Freedom Ring is a blue jelly with tiny silver holographic hex glitter. Again, two smooth coats achieved a squishy opacity. I also did two accent nails of Spangled! LFR is $9.50.

Our Flag Was Still There is the textured polish of the collection. Red, white, blue, and silver glitter are loaded into a clear base. By loaded, I mean LOADED. This polish, if worn alone, is textured. That makes it a little thicker and more difficult to work with than a normal polish. While textured polishes are harder to apply, I find it pretty easy to get them on my nails and they are always well worth the work! I did two coats of Our Flag Was Still There without undies. I also used top coat over it (the last two photos) so that you could see that option as well! OFWST is $10.00. Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: ellagee's Golden Lotus

{Press Sample}

Laura has been working quite hard and quite long on perfecting her 24 karat gold top coat, and it's finally ready to show you guys! This polish should be available on Wednesday and it will cost a very reasonable $15! Considering I paid triple that for a gold top coat a year or so ago, this is well worth the cost. Laura will have 15 bottles of this polish available!

Golden Lotus is a clear base with 24 karat gold leaf in it! This top coat is simply gorgeous! I did one coat for all of the photographs, but you could do two coats for more coverage. I don't like the gold to overpower the polish, which is why I prefer one coat. I love how smooth and easy it was to apply. I did swirl the brush around in the bottle before applying it to my nail, since gold is heavier than glitter. I love how it turned out over ellagee Marvelous Delilah! Gold and peach just go together for me. And the polish comes with a beautiful white petaled flower ring! Enjoy! :)

Traditional French Tip

I recently wore some french tip nails that rekindled my love of them! I love the clean, crisp lines of a great french mani!

For these I began with two coats of A England's Iseult, a really pretty, delicate shimmery pink polish. Once Iseult was dry, I used french tip nail vinyls to tape off the tips of my nails. I then polished Zoya Purity over the vinyls and pulled them off. I finished the mani off with some adorable crystal bows that I got in my ellagee Fibros for Life box using nail glue! Enjoy! :)

Indie Spotlight: Godric Gryffindor

{Purchased by Me}

Ahhhh, I'm so excited about this post today! I definitely fan girl a lot here, usually on Doctor Who stuff...but today I have something to do with another obsession...HARRY POTTER! I love love love Harry Potter, so when Lauren from You Polish announced a collaboration with Penchantelle for a Harry Potter box, I knew I had to buy one! Of course, I got the Gryffindor Box because, well, duh, it's Gryffindor! :)

Lauren works with Leslie from Penchantelle quite a bit. They pair up and make polish/bracelet duos. I've been eyeing Leslie's bracelets, waiting for the perfect one to buy. Well, HP was the one I had been waiting for! Leslie uses genuine leather for her gorgeous beaded creations. Gryffindor, the name of bracelet, is a black leather bracelet with red and yellow beads. It clasps together with a really pretty golden button. BUT the BEST part is the charm...two wings flanked by a pearl. The Golden Snitch. AHHHHHH! Love!

Godric Gryffindor Bracelet

The best thing about this bracelet is that it fits me! I have the hardest time finding bracelets that fit because I have rather small wrists. I measured my wrist, sent in the measurement, and Leslie made the bracelet to fit it! The even better news? Leslie has set up a discount code just for you guys! Use the code ifeelpolished and get 15% off your order through September 1, 2014! I'm already planning the custom bracelet I'm going to have her make for me...

Paired with Gryffindor is Lauren's beautiful holographic red polish, aptly named Godric! This amazing polish was perfect in two coats! Not to mention how awesomely holographic it is, even indoors! Yowza! This box also came with lightning bolt decals, which I used on my accent nail. Additionally, it came with butter beer lip scrub. Yummy! Lauren's scrub left my lips feeling smooth and wonderful. All in all, I would say this box was WELL worth the $25 I paid! Lauren has a box for each house, if Hufflepuff, Slytherin, or Ravenclaw are your thing! If you love Harry Potter, you'll love these boxes! Enjoy! :)
